Other strong candidates in the top five positions include Senegal, Tunisie, Algérie, à Misri.
The ranking saw the Super Eagles of Nigeria drop from the top five, a change that resulted from their challenging start in the first round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Despite being 5th in the November rankings, Nigeria’s ranking in the World Cup qualifiers has not been impressive, leading to their drop in the rankings.
The competitive landscape in African football is still changing, with teams vying for positions while aiming to gain a good position in the FIFA rankings. The coming months and subsequent matches may play an important role in deciding the final standings and the teams that will represent Africa on the international football stage.
