Banyana Banyana vs Madagascar Women’s National Football Team Lineups: South Africa Women’s Soccer National Team Lineup against Madagascar Women’s National Football Team today in 2023 Women’s COSAFA Cup.
Banyana Banyana made a poor start to their COSAFA Women’s Championship campaign as they lost to Malawi in their first Group A match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
Coach Desiree Ellis’s team faced a challenge early in the match and were forced to change early in the 13th minute due to a collision in the penalty area. Raesetja Mogale had to leave the field due to injury and was replaced by Morongwa Manamela.
The Malawi team dominated the first half, and managed to score in the 20th minute with a goal from Leticia Chiyamba. However, Thubelihle Shamase responded for the hosts with the tying goal in the 44th minute.
These results indicate that Banyana Banyana faced initial challenges in its quest for championship success. They will probably look to regroup and improve their performance in their next matches to rectify this previous situation.

This was because the tournament fell outside of FIFA’s window and at the same time the Hollywoodbets Super League was in full swing. Despite the short preparation time, she managed to gather her team for the tournament.
During the match against Malawi, Ellis noticed that her team made mistakes and Malawi took advantage of those mistakes. This ultimately led to Malawi winning the opening match of the tournament between the two teams.
It is clear that the logistical difficulties surrounding the team’s preparation may have contributed to Banyana Banyana’s performance, but it is possible that their goal is to resolve these issues and make improvements as the tournament progresses.
