Cape Town Spurs Announce New Signing – Cape Town Spurs have managed to secure the services of former Richards Bay captain and defender Katlego Maphathe, as reported by iDiski Times.
Maphathe’s move to Cape Town Spurs comes after he left Natal Richboyz in October 2023, a situation that happened outside the transfer window. This time made it difficult for him to immediately join a new club, as the registration of players is limited until January.
The experienced defender was instrumental in helping Natal Richboyz secure promotion to the DStv Premier League three seasons ago. However, his departure from the club in October was unexpected, given his huge contribution last season where he made over 30 appearances in all competitions.
Maphathe’s move to Cape Town Spurs gives him a fresh start and an opportunity to excel in the DStv Premier League. The defender’s experience and skills may contribute to the stability of the Cape Town Spurs defense as they face the challenges of this season.

According to close sources, Spurs have completed the deal for Maphathe and are hoping that he can strengthen their defense before their relegation battle resumes in mid-February, after conceding 33 goals in 16 games.
They announced the signing of Siphesihle Maduna on Thursday after leaving AmaZulu FC, while also bringing in Tanzanian defender Gadiel Kamagi.
