Summary:

Regional Governments and Local Authorities constitute a complete ministry placed under the Presidency and headed by the Minister of State assisted by two deputies as managers. There is also a Secretary General who is the general director of government activities.

One of the tasks of this ministry is to coordinate all development plans of regions and local authorities under the President’s Office. The administration of this ministry falls under the minister who is also a member of the Council of Ministers of Tanzania.

The ministry has the responsibility to develop all regions and districts, including ensuring that the infrastructure of each area in the construction of roads and buildings continues and at an appropriate level.

The Minister of State for the Presidency of the Republic, Regional Administrations and Local Authorities (Tamisemi), Mohamed Mchengerwa, announced the names of the students selected to enter the first year in different public schools in the country under the academic year 2024.

The names include those of students selected to study in government boarding, special and full-time secondary schools.

Mchengerwa called on heads of regions, districts and principals of all councils in the country to ensure that all students selected to join the day schools report to school by January 8, 2024, while those selected in the boarding schools must present themselves before January 6, 2024. The minister said this today, Sunday, December 17, 2023, in Mwanza town, while speaking to journalists.
