Grammys: Tyla Wins Grammy 2024 beats Davido, Asake, Burna Boy – South African singer, Tyla, on Sunday, has won the award for the Best African Music Performance category at the 2024 Grammys.
A female rapper won the competition of Nigerian actors – David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido; Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake; and Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy.
Tyla’s ‘Water’ was surpassed by Davido’s ‘Unavailable’, Asake’s ‘Amapiano’, Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys’, and Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’.
The song, ‘Water’, reached the top 10 in 16 countries including the United Kingdom and the United States. The award was presented at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
