Nene Dorgeles weaved through the defense line of Côte d’Ivoire and found an open space and scored from just outside the danger area to beat Yahia Fofana for the first goal. Cotê d’Ivoire unexpectedly equalized through Simon Adingra after scoring from a rebound following Seko Fofana’s long shot. Oumar Diakete scored in the final minutes of extra time with a backheel to secure victory for Cotê d’Ivoire.
