List of UEFA Men’s Player of the Year 2023 – The initial list of players was drawn up by UEFA’s technical research group, which assessed performance in the 2022/23 season at club and national team level.
A jury, made up of coaches from clubs participating in the group stages of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League, as well as the coaches of the men’s national teams, took part in the voting process.
This jury was responsible for selecting the top three team nominees within the UEFA member associations. In addition, a panel of journalists selected by the European Sports Media (ESM) was included in the jury.

Coaches and reporters were tasked with selecting their top three players from the nominees. They allocated five points to their first choice, three points to their second, and one point to their third choice. The final results were determined by counting the joint votes of coaches and journalists. Most importantly, coaches were not allowed to vote for players from their teams.
