Malawi Women’s National Football Team COSAFA Squad 2023 Fixtures: Malawi women’s national football team coach Lovemore Fazili has named his final 23-man squad for the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship 2023, which will be held in Gauteng, South Africa, from October 4 to 15.
This team has eight new faces, including goalkeepers Esther Maulidi and Martha Cosmas, who are receiving their first call-up to the senior team. In addition, newcomers include Maggie Chavula, Faith Chinzimu and Leticia Chiyambala from Ascent Academy, Rose Alufandika and Funny Magombo from Ntopwa, and Sarah Mlimbika from Ndirande Soccer Giants.
The Malawi team, known as the Scorchers, are in Group A, along with South Africa, Eswatini and Madagascar. They will begin their campaign against host nation South Africa on October 4, followed by a match against Eswatini on October 7. Their final group stage match will be against Madagascar on October 10.
