Among the most attractive leagues in Tanzanian football for now is women’s football, which is coming at a faster pace with greater investment compared to the past several seasons. This women’s league tournament is currently under the TFF which consists of 12 teams where the winner will be determined by the number of points they will collect after playing 22 matches in a home and away format for all participating teams
Last season, the league was sponsored by Serengeti Lite where it lasted for one season, currently it is under the Tanzania TFF football federation. These issues are based on the instructions of CAF to have women’s football where every participating team with the ability to own a team must have a women’s and youth team to promote African football.

Ratiba ya TWPL 2023-24
Last season JKT Tanzania team and Simba Queens have been seen doing well in the women’s league with several championships compared to other participating teams. The champion of the league gets the chance to participate in the Cecafa club championship where it will give them the chance to play in the African CAF champion club competition to get the winner of the women’s clubs in Africa where it is dominated by the Mamelodi Sundowns women’s club.
