Sundowns Confirm the Exit of Gift Motupa – Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed their withdrawal from Gift Motupa’s club. Sundowns confirmed his departure on Friday, with the player and club agreeing to part ways.
After joining the club in 2020, the 29-year-old spent the last four seasons at Chloorkop, but made just 23 appearances in all competitions for the Brazilians, scoring three goals.
The former Baroka, Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits player is now free to join the club of his choice.
Motupa has also played for the national team 11 times, scoring five impressive goals in the matches he played, especially in the CHAN and COSAFA Cup qualifiers.
“Mamelodi Sundowns has parted ways with Gift Motupa,” the club said on social media.
“Thank you for your service to the club and we wish you all the best! 👆”

Motupa makes way for Lorch?
The forward has been linked with a move away from the Brazilians for months after not featuring in the 2023/24 season.
With Sundowns said to be in talks with Orlando Pirates star Thembinkosi Lorch and Sirius winger Tashreeq Matthews, Motupa has now left the club.
