Top 10 Best Coach in the World by IFFHS: Fernando Diniz is named the 5th, The coach was ranked behind Guardiola, Ancelotti, Luciano Spaletti and Simone Inzaghi. Fernando Diniz has surpassed footballing greats and been chosen as the fifth best club manager in the world, according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).

The coach of Copa Libertadores champions Fluminense finished just behind Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid), Luciano Spaletti (Napoli) and Simone Inzaghi (Inter Milan).

The Brazilian coach received a total of 33 points, overtaking Liverpool’s Jürgen Klopp, who took tenth place with six points. Pep Guardiola, voted the best coach in the world and even overtaking Diniz at the Club World Cup, received 281 points.

Palmeiras’ Abel Ferreira was also in the running but missed out on the top 10. The list also includes Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Xavi (Barcelona), Ange Postecoglou (Celtic/Tottenham) and Unai Emery (Aston Villa).

Guardiola was voted the best coach in the world for the third time. He had previously won this award in 2009 and 2012. Diniz was the first non-European among the top seven.
