uZulu noMhlaba S1 Cast, Teasers, Series Download: The drama series is set and filmed in the township of Ulundi in KwaZulu-Natal, which tells the story of two maskandi artists who get into a heated argument over music – only to discover that they are closer than they thought they could be.

The series explores two generations of maskandi musicians: fathers and their sons, and the intergenerational (and personal) musical competition. Coming from different backgrounds but sharing a love for maskandi music, Zulu and Mhlaba become bitter rivals when they inherit a feud held by their fathers.

They learn a secret long hidden from them when an unspeakable tragedy occurs. What effect will this have on the world around them, their loved ones and each other?

It’s a story of music and competition, and what people will do when faced with life-changing moments that require them to face their greatest fears in order to overcome them. The series stars Aphiwe Bengu as Zulu and Ntokozo Vilakazi as Mhlaba.

Ernest Ndlovu, Ayanda Borotho, Nothando Ngcobo, Phumzile Mlangeni and award-winning maskandi musician Ihhashi Elimhlophe (real name Bheki Ngcobo) also star.

While they continue to fight still, the chief calls them and makes them wash each other’s hands to show forgiveness and also makes them agree to planning a concert together in order to unite through music instead of trying by all means to get revenge.
