2024 Olympics Qualifier: Super Falcons defeat Cameroon | It was a real battle for Nigeria’s women’s national team, the Super Falcons, on Monday at a bumpy venue at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, but they triumphed 1-0 over the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.
After 0-0 in Douala last Friday, the Nigerian team scored in the first half and held on to defeat Cameroon 1-0 on aggregate and qualify for the last round of the CAF qualifiers for the Paris Olympic Games 2024.
Esther Okoronkwo scored the only goal of the match after some good action by Jennifer Echegini on the left wing. Echegini headed to the byline before cutting the ball for the well-positioned Okoronkwo to finish. The Falcons will wait to find out their final opponents, as another qualifier in Africa is scheduled for Monday.
