The registration process for the National Certificate Test (BMT) will begin on December 18. Later, at 06:00 on January 19, the results of the test will be officially released.
Students have the option of accessing their results online or getting them from their schools. In particular, in the Western Cape, students will have the opportunity to collect their results from 11:00 on the same day, adding a local variation to the results release schedule.
It is an important time for students, and flexibility in feedback methods aims to accommodate different preferences and situations.

MOBILE
- Register using the USSD code *120*45856# and exam number. Your matric results will then be sent to your phone once they are available.
- Or you can SMS your exam number to 45856.
- Each SMS costs R1.50 and free SMSes cannot be used.
ONLINE
- Visit the Department of Education website and visit their matric results page.
- Enter your examination number and other personal details required, such as your ID number.
- Click the search button and your results will come up.
SCHOOL
You can visit your high school on the day matric results are released to view them. Form four results should be available from 11:00 am.
MATRICSMATE APP
- Download the MatricsMate app from Google Play Store or Apple Play Store
- Enter your 13 digit ID number and examination number.
- You will then be able to view the matric results as soon as they are available.
NEWSPAPER
Various newspaper companies have made it possible to get the fourth form results through various media. Aspirants can check the newspaper and find their exam roll number, or they can visit the website of the newspaper and navigate to the fourth form result tab.
They must fill in their matric exam number and school name to see their exam results on the newspaper website.
EXAMINATION RESULTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON JANUARY 18, 2024.
The 2023 National Higher Certificate Examinations concluded on 6 December 2023, and the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, will announce the results of the examinations on 18 January 2024.
The results will be released to the candidates on 19 January 2024. Some results may not be available due to technical problems.
- Candidates are urged to get their statements of results from their school/centre where they wrote the exams. Candidates’ results will also be available on this website starting at 06:00 on 19 January 2024.
- Result queries should be submitted for investigation within 30 days after the release of results.
- Candidates must ensure that names and identity numbers reflect correctly on their statement of results and report any required corrections to the Department before 21 February 2024.
