Announcement of 2023 KCSE Exam Results: President William Ruto recently took steps to address the failure of 3,000 candidates who registered for the 2023 KCSE exam but did not sit the exams. He ordered an investigation to determine the causes of this problem. The President further stressed the need to take strict action against examination cheating.
President Ruto’s statements came after he was briefed on the exam results by Education Minister Ezekiel Machogu at the Eldoret State Lodge. Exam results are currently being released at Moi Girls Eldoret.
The President’s investigation order demonstrates his commitment to ensuring the integrity of the education system and addressing any irregularities that may affect the examination process. This cautious approach shows the government’s commitment to upholding education standards and maintaining the credibility of national examinations.
Candidates who took their fourth form national exams at the end of 2023 will know their fate today (Monday), the Nation has learned.

The minister, they say, will inform President William Ruto about the preparation, management, operation, marking and certification of the examinations before proceeding with the release of the Moi Girls Eldoret results.
This will be the second time, after Mombasa, that the ministry will publish the results outside the headquarters of the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) in the capital Nairobi.
An administrator from a Rift Valley county on Monday confirmed to the Nation the morning meeting scheduled for Moi Girls with the Secretary General of Education and other ministry officials.
“We were informed about the meeting that would start at 7:30 am. However, we were not informed about the agenda,” the director said.
Mr Machogu is already in Eldoret and ministerial sources said on Monday they will meet Dr Ruto and “seek” permission to announce the Eldoret results.
Later the president is expected to open his new school in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.
According to the Ministry of Education, 903,260 candidates took the KCSE exam between November 6 and 24, 2023.
Last month, Machogu said 903,260 applicants would benefit from a new grading system launched in August aimed at increasing the number of students joining universities.
