BMZ: Shule Walizopangiwa Darasa la Saba 2023/2024 Zanzibar, The Zanzibar Examination Council (ZEC) was previously called the Zanzibar Education Measurement and Evaluation Council. ZEC was officially established by the authority of Law number 6 of 2012 of the Zanzibar House of Representatives.
Currently, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training is responsible for staffing the ZEC, issuing policy guidelines, and providing grants. As ZEC currently does not receive support from development partners, most of its funding comes from the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar (RGoZ) through these grants.
The Director of the Zanzibar Examination Council is responsible for issuing instructions to ZEC leaders. At the same time, the director becomes a mediator between the Ministry of Education and Technical Training and ZEC, ensuring there is good communication and coordination between the two entities.
