ABOUT NBC Premier League 2023-24
The Tanzania Premier League, also known as the NBC Premier League, is a highly anticipated football competition that involves 16 teams. These teams compete against each other in a series of matches over the course of the season to determine the ultimate champion.
Throughout the season, each team plays a total of 30 matches. The fixtures are scheduled by the Tanzania Premier League Board, which ensures that all teams have the opportunity to play both at home and away. This balanced schedule allows for fair competition and ensures that each team faces a variety of opponents in different venues.
Home matches are played on a team’s own turf, in front of their home crowd. These matches provide a sense of familiarity and give the home team an advantage in terms of support and familiarity with the stadium. On the other hand, away matches require teams to travel to the stadiums of their opponents. Playing away from home presents a different set of challenges, such as adapting to unfamiliar surroundings and dealing with the support of the home crowd.
As the season progresses, teams accumulate points based on their results in each match. A win earns a team three points, a draw earns one point, and a loss results in zero points. The team with the highest number of points at the end of the season is crowned the champion of the NBC Premier League.
